CULTIVATING RED VARIETALS ON A RIDGE OVERLOOKING THE OWYHEE MOUNTAINS.
SCORIA vineyards was established in 2014 by planting Malbec and Petit Verdot along a dormant volcanic vent. In 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were planted. In April of 2017 Sydney Nederend released her first vintages under the SCORIA label.
While Malbec and Petit Verdot are barrel aging for release in Spring 2018, Nederend released a Mourvèdre (100%), Syrah Blend (75% Syrah, 17% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot), Cabernet Sauvignon (100%), Petit Verdot (100%), Chardonnay (100%) and Dry Riesling (100%). All of the fruit for these wines was sourced from Idaho vineyards.
All 2016 and future vintages of red varietals will be made with estate fruit.
